Issues/Objectives: As illustrated by its first local portals, Altoona.com and StateCollege.com, Lazerpro has always maintained a strong commitment to its local community. That commitment was the foundation for a portal that would enable local organizations - schools, volunteer groups, and other non-profits - to obtain online newsletters free-of-charge. The organizations would have a tool through which they could easily communicate with their members, and the community would have an easily accessible resource through which its residents could learn about and contact the non-profit organizations.

Lazerpro's Role: CentreCounty.com was designed with the community in mind. The county was divided into five major geographic regions, enabling residents and others to locate information quickly. Within each region, organizational categories are displayed, and itÐs within these categories that organizational newsletters reside. Categories include School News, Religious News, Volunteer Fire Companies, Local Governments, Business Directory, and others. Local news and weather are also available around the clock. The portal is advertiser supported and currently receives thousands of unique visitors each month.
